1. Our Commitment

CareVibe Medical Clinic Inc. is committed to providing accessible services to all patients and members of the public, in a manner that respects dignity, independence, integration, and equal opportunity — the four core principles of the AODA.

We are committed to meeting the accessibility needs of persons with disabilities in a timely manner and will do so by preventing and removing barriers to accessibility.

2. Legislation

CareVibe Medical Clinic Inc. is an Ontario corporation and is subject to the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, 2005 (AODA) and the Integrated Accessibility Standards Regulation (IASR). The AODA establishes standards to achieve accessibility for Ontarians with disabilities with respect to goods, services, facilities, employment, accommodation, buildings, structures, and premises.

Note: AODA obligations vary by organization size and sector. As a small private healthcare provider, CareVibe is committed to meeting applicable requirements and will update this statement as the organization grows and as regulatory requirements evolve. Verify current obligations applicable to your organization size with an Ontario accessibility advisor or legal counsel.

3. Accessible Customer Service

CareVibe Medical Clinic Inc. provides services in a manner that respects the dignity and independence of all patients. Specifically:

  • We communicate with patients in a manner that takes their disability into account and meets their accessibility needs, to the best of our ability.
  • We welcome the use of assistive devices by patients accessing our virtual care services.
  • We welcome support persons. Patients may choose to have a support person present during their virtual appointment with prior notice.
  • We will make reasonable efforts to accommodate patients with disabilities and adjust our service delivery process where possible and clinically appropriate.
  • We provide notice to patients when our services or platforms are temporarily unavailable for reasons that may affect people with disabilities.

4. Website Accessibility

CareVibe's website (www.adhdcare.ca) is designed with accessibility in mind. We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.0 Level AA where feasible, as required under the IASR for public-facing websites.

Our website accessibility efforts include:
  • Text alternatives for non-text content where applicable
  • Sufficient colour contrast between text and background
  • Clear, plain-language content written at a readable level
  • Logical page structure and navigation
  • Forms and interactive elements that are keyboard-navigable where supported by our platform

We are a small virtual clinic using third-party booking and EMR platforms (Juvonno). Some accessibility features are dependent on those platforms' own compliance. We encourage patients who experience accessibility barriers on our booking platform to contact us directly so we can assist.

5. Language Access

CareVibe currently provides clinical services in English. We recognize that language barriers may limit access to care for some patients. We are committed to:
  • Communicating clearly about our language limitations at the time of booking so patients can make informed decisions
  • Exploring options to improve language access as the clinic grows
  • Not using family members or informal contacts as interpreters for clinical appointments, as this creates risks to accuracy and confidentiality

Patients requiring services in a language other than English are encouraged to contact us at info@adhdcare.ca to discuss their needs before booking.

6. How Long We Keep Your Information

CareVibe delivers all clinical services virtually via video. We recognize that some patients may face barriers related to:
  • Limited access to a device with camera and microphone
  • Unfamiliarity with video conferencing technology
  • Limited or unreliable internet connectivity

To support patients with technology barriers, CareVibe:
  • Provides clear, step-by-step instructions for joining appointments via the Juvonno platform
  • Encourages patients to test their technology before their appointment
  • Does not charge a cancellation fee where a technical failure on CareVibe's side prevents the appointment from proceeding
  • Where a patient is unable to access video due to technology barriers, we will work with the patient to find a suitable alternative or rescheduling option

7. Accommodation of Disabilities in Clinical Care

CareVibe will make reasonable accommodations for patients with disabilities that affect their ability to participate in a standard virtual appointment, including:
  • Allowing additional appointment time where clinically required
  • Adjusting communication style and pace to meet the patient's needs
  • Accepting written communication via the Juvonno secure messaging portal as a supplement or alternative to verbal communication where appropriate
  • Working with patients to identify the most accessible format for receiving clinical information and documentation

Accommodation requests should be made at the time of booking or in advance of the appointment by contacting info@adhdcare.ca.

8. Feedback and Accessibility Complaints

CareVibe welcomes feedback on the accessibility of our services and website. If you have experienced an accessibility barrier or have a suggestion for how we can improve, please contact us:

Response Time

We will acknowledge accessibility feedback within 5 business days and respond substantively within 15 business days.

All accessibility complaints will be reviewed and addressed in good faith. Where a systemic barrier is identified, CareVibe will take reasonable steps to remove it.

9. Multi-Year Accessibility Plan

As CareVibe grows, we are committed to developing and maintaining a multi-year accessibility plan in accordance with IASR requirements. Our current accessibility priorities include:
  • Ensuring our website meets WCAG 2.0 Level AA standards
  • Reviewing and updating this accessibility statement annually
  • Exploring language access solutions for non-English speaking patients
  • Reviewing third-party platform accessibility (Juvonno, booking tools) and advocating for improvements where gaps are identified
  • Training staff and contractors on AODA requirements and accessible service delivery as the team grows

This accessibility plan will be formally documented and published as CareVibe grows and as IASR multi-year plan requirements become applicable to the organization. Consult an Ontario accessibility advisor to confirm current requirements for your organization size.

10. Emergency Procedures

As a virtual-only clinic, CareVibe does not have a physical premises. Emergency procedure and evacuation plan requirements under the AODA that relate to physical locations do not apply to CareVibe's current virtual-only model. If CareVibe ever establishes a physical location, accessible emergency procedures will be developed and documented at that time.

11. Review and Updates

This Accessibility Statement will be reviewed and updated annually, or sooner if there are significant changes to CareVibe's services, website, or applicable AODA requirements.

CareVibe is committed to continuous improvement of accessibility across all aspects of its services.
